Bruce Takefman, founder and president of ResearchFDI, leads a seasoned and enthused team that provides economic development consulting for some of the world’s most prominent EDOs.Bruce understands international markets, having worked with clients based across the United States, Canada, Europe, South America and Asia. Bruce’s work amongst different continents enables him to maximize the potential for his clients to seize global opportunities.Bruce’s experience has led him to work extensively with a wide array of clients touching upon various industries such as the biotech and agriculture, aerospace and aviation, IT, financial services, medical, advanced manufacturing, and renewable energy sectors among others. His work to date and large network has led to millions in new investment opportunities for regions around the world. Furthermore, Bruce possesses a strong knowledge of trade shows, having helped prepare clients to attend some of the world’s most prestigious shows.

Adam Solomon brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to ResearchFDI. Since joining the firm in 2011, Adam has served as VP of Business Development, overseeing the implementation of company-wide research strategies and strict quality control measures for client deliverables.Simply put, Adam understands the business. He offers over five years of economic development consulting and research experience across a multitude of roles throughout his career. Adam has worked closely with ResearchFDI clients in helping secure significant corporate investments.Adam’s work also includes mandates with Fortune 500 companies worldwide.
He was born in Israel and speaks three languages (English, French & Hebrew), priding himself on understanding global business climates and knowing how to work with key decision makers from international companies.
His work across a wide range of industries includes aerospace, renewable energy, software, and advanced manufacturing.
Adam earned a degree in international business from Dawson College in Montréal, Québec. Adam is a proud member of the International Economic Development Council (IEDC).
Executive Vice President, Operations
Davor Davidovic is a business strategy and market intelligence expert who has been working in the economic development industry for over a decade. He brings an extensive knowledge in corporate strategy and real estate, location intelligence, industry linkages, market intelligence, as well as an understanding of specific industry issues.He began his career as a Marketing Manager at Resitek Inc., a Montreal-based IT services firm, where he was responsible for the company’s marketing, advertising and development of annual business plans. He later worked as a Corporate Director at Virtus International, a market research firm, where he managed the Global 1000 company accounts and advising them on supply chain best practices.
Through his studies in Master of Engineering at University of Zagreb, Faculty of Civil Engineering, and Business Administration and Marketing at Herzing College in Montreal, Mr. Davidovic developed an understanding of different industrial and organizational procedures that are required in business today.
Prior to joining ResearchFDI, he worked in various capacities in economic development consulting including business intelligence, industry analysis, client services and operations, supporting global investment promotion organizations in business recruitment activities. At ResearchFDI, Mr. Davidovic is responsible for managing the company’s daily operations. He oversees the entire product lifecycle from planning stages to product delivery and translates market opportunities into prioritized product enhancements. As part of the management team, he is also responsible for strategic alliances, overall corporate strategy and management of intellectual property. He is fluent in English, German and several Slavic languages.
Vice President, Global Sales & Products
Ms. Magder is an innate leader and market strategist bringing fifteen years of experience in economic and business development. Ms. Magder is leading the company’s International Business Development team, promoting our portfolio of business intelligence data products.
Ms. Magder has spent the past 8 years working as Director, Business Development at the world’s largest language services and related technologies company including clinical software, document management solutions and translation management software. Throughout her time there Ms. Magder worked with Fortune 500 and fast-growing companies to provide language services and solutions to support their international growth initiatives. Additionally, she gained extensive knowledge of the software solutions (SaaS) market and is looking forward to using that knowledge to promote ResearchFDI’s FDI attraction software and strategic solutions.
Ms. Magder received an Honors Bachelor of Commerce degree from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario; specializing in marketing and international business. She began her career as Vice President of Business Development at a start-up in the technology industry where she was responsible for strategic partnerships, marketing and business development. Previously, she gained extensive experience in economic development by developing advanced research protocols and surveying techniques in addition to acting as an in-market business development representative for the UK-based East and West Midland Investment Promotion Agency; wherein Ms. Magder met with large companies throughout Canada in a variety of industries including, energy and environment, manufacturing, services and technology.

Rob has been with ResearchFDI since 2015 and is currently Executive Director, Research & Planning. With a Political Science MA from McGill University and a background that includes policy analysis, online marketing, and service development, Rob has become a market research expert in his role and supplies our team with the most promising business prospects across a wide variety of industries. Alongside market research, Rob’s responsibilities include quality control for research processes; the creation of in-depth benchmarking, company and FDI reports for clients; internal resource allocation planning; and database development and management. During his tenure, Rob has helped pioneer the use of innovative market research approaches and technologies at the organization and has worked with a range of esteemed clients spanning North American and European economic development. These include the South Carolina Department of Commerce, Invest Liverpool, Columbus 2020, the Charleston Regional Development Alliance, and Invest Québec. His expertise covers the Life Sciences, Advanced Manufacturing, Aerospace, Automotive, IT Services and Software Development industries, among many others.
Rob is a native of the United Kingdom and has lived and worked in Sweden, Canada and Ghana.

Maxim joined ResearchFDI in 2016 and has since carried out market research and performed business lead generation on behalf of over twenty EDOs from across the United States and Canada and secured 150+ qualified meetings with expanding SMEs and multinational corporations across a variety of industries, including aerospace, automotive, software and IT, biotech and life sciences.
Being fluent in English, French and German, Maxim has been making a tremendous contribution to our company’s outreach campaigns in European countries, including Germany, Switzerland, France, Belgium, the Netherlands and the UK. Maxim is also experienced in organizing visits of high level delegations to major European trade shows such as Paris Air Show, Farnborough, and Hannover Messe.
Prior to joining ResearchFDI, Maxim gained his first economic development experience while interning at the German Chamber of Commerce (AHK) in Moscow and more recently as Executive Assistant to the Head of Swiss Business Hub Canada in Montreal.

Mrs. Marcela Garnica is Research Consultant International’s Director of Strategic Initiatives. A native of Mexico, Marcela is fluent in Spanish, English and French. Marcela received her Bachelor of Law from the Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City in 2006, before going on to earn her Master of Advanced Studies in International Law from Universidad Complutense de Madrid in 2009, culminating in the completion of her Law PhD studies in 2011. She has served as Trade and Investment Projects Manager for ProMexico’s office in Madrid in 2009, before going on to become the organization’s Operations Director in its Vancouver, British Columbia location from 2012 to 2015.

Sandy Pratt brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise in global business and economic development to ResearchFDI. During her 30 years in the public and private sector, Sandy served as Deputy Director for the Oklahoma Department of Commerce, leading teams in global business recruitment, business retention and expansion, export trade, and entrepreneurship/small business. In addition, she has held CEO and senior management roles with city and regional economic development organizations and economic development consulting firms. Sandy’s private sector experience also includes commercial and industrial development; construction services; and business consulting with a national firm.
While leading global business attraction and expansion for the State of Oklahoma, her team’s work resulted in the creation of 91,500 jobs and significant corporate investments of $8.9 billion. Sandy’s work across a wide range of industries includes aerospace, defense, corporate services, renewable energy, bioscience, healthcare, advanced manufacturing, logistics/distribution, IT, and advanced food processing.
Sandy is a certified economic developer (CEcD) professional and a Fellow Member (FM), conferred by the International Economic Development Council (IEDC). She is a graduate of the Economic Development Institute of the University of Oklahoma, and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Institute for Organization Management at Southern Methodist University, Dallas. She holds a B.S. in accounting/business administration from Southeastern Oklahoma State University.

Gillian Hatton is a specialist in strategic economic development, trade development and investment attraction. With nearly 20 years as an economic development practitioner, she has undertaken numerous assignments to facilitate in the creation of sustainable economies with high-value jobs, economic prosperity, and competitive advantage for economic development organizations and communities in North America, the United Kingdom, and overseas.
As a strategic advisor to governments, and economic development organizations around the world, Gillian has extensive experience in the development, implementation and hands-on delivery of FDI and trade development programs. Through work with a multitude of companies both large and small from start-ups to fortune companies and their intermediaries on expansion strategies in foreign markets, these programs have resulted in millions of dollars of added value in investments and job creation.
Most recently, Gillian represented Enterprise Florida in Canada with a trade and investment mandate and Business Birmingham driving investment from Canada into the United Kingdom. She provides trade development services in Canada for Welsh companies on behalf of The Welsh Government. Representation roles for investment attraction preceded these assignments at The North of England Inward Investment Agency and with the Ontario East Economic Development Commission.
Gillian’s has an extensive track record in the delivery of bespoke trade development and investment attraction strategies for The Province of Ontario, The Nova Scotia Government, The Western REN, The Leduc-Nisku Region, The Mid-Saskatchewan Alliance, and communities both large and small across Canada.
With an in-depth and comprehensive knowledge of leading-edge technologies that drive economic growth and prosperity, Gillian’s work reflects their importance in the creation of sustainable economies through helping communities leverage their strengths and address their economic challenges. She has a substantial track record in the compilation of strategic sector studies in a diverse range of industries. Sam Driggers, CEcD

Sam Driggers, CEcD brings more than 25 years of international, statewide, and local experience in international and investment promotion, business and economic development to ResearchFDI, and is a certified economic development professional. Sam began his professional career in Washington, D.C. interning for Ambassador Michael A. Samuels then as a political operative for a national political party, later transitioning as an international development recruiter for an agricultural focused nongovernmental organization (NGO) that relocated him to their West Coast regional recruitment operations in Sacramento, California.
Sam’s later California-based work experience ranges across the web of international trade promotion and economic development organizations with program directorships at the former California Technology, Trade and Commerce Agency, Sacramento Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce, the California Asian Pacific Chamber of Commerce and GlobalSF in San Francisco. His grass-roots community economic development work with California jurisdictions have included positions with the City of Stockton, County of El Dorado and City of Oroville.
Sam earned his MA degree in International Trade and Policy Studies from the Monterey Institute of International Studies in 1997. Sam received his undergraduate degrees in Economic History and African Political Studies from the University of Cape Town in 1990, and Rhodes University in 1991 in South Africa. Sam is also a graduate of the University of Oklahoma’s Economic Development Institute and maintains his certified economic developer professional accreditation in the International Economic Development Council, as well as his ongoing participation in their international advisory committee. Justin is a business development, logistics, and market research professional with almost a decade of experience generating leads, managing accounts, negotiating deals, and directing operations for Montreal area 3PL logistics companies such as E-Z Access Freight Brokers and Freightopolis.Born and raised in Newfoundland & Labrador, after completing a BA in social anthropology and sociology from the Memorial University of Newfoundland, Justin moved to Montreal in 2006 to pursue new work opportunities and to focus on developing his musicianship as a drummer. Entering the workforce immediately, he helped to grow a small, privately owned logistics company to generate revenues of $3M per year.
In 2014, Justin was accepted to Concordia University’s John Molson School of Business and left the workforce to pursue a full-time MBA. As Justin is approaching the completion of his MBA, he has re-entered the workforce and approached his new position of economic development consultant with enthusiasm and energy.

Henry is founder and Group CEO of the WAVTEQ Group and Senior Vice President of fDi Intelligence. He has 20 years of experience in the area of FDI. He has worked with over 150 EDOs and global corporations in 60 countries.
Henry started his career in PwC’s International Investment Group before becoming Manager of Inward Investment in IBM, Product Director in the Financial Times, and subsequently founding several start-up companies.
In 2010, Henry founded WAVTEQ Limited in Hong Kong, a rapidly growing FDI data, technology and consulting company. WAVTEQ has grown to 50 FDI consultants and a direct presence in 8 countries.
Henry gives expert consulting advice to US EDOs and has deep knowledge of how to attract FDI to the US. Since 2014, WAVTEQ has attracted over $5 billion of greenfield FDI to the US.
Henry is at the forefront of expanding our knowledge on FDI and investment promotion. He has pioneered the development of new data sources on FDI (fDi Markets and IncentivesMonitor). Henry also invented fDi Benchmark (in 2006), FDI Accounting (in 2015) and FDI Professionals (in 2016). Over 1,000 EDOs, site selectors, and corporations have subscribed to WAVTEQ-developed products as well as Select USA, BEA and other federal agencies
Henry has nearly 100 publications and presentations, which are widely considered authoritative guides for how governments can attract FDI, in particular his ‘Framework for Investment Promotion’ (published by UNCTAD) and ‘Handbook for Investment Promotion’ (published by Columbia University). Henry’s latest publication by Columbia Law School in January 2016 examines how EDOs should measure inward investment and EDO performance.
Henry has a First Class Honours Degree in Economics & Politics, a Master’s Degree with Distinction in International Political Economic and a PhD in FDI.

Chris has nearly 15 years of FDI consulting and sales experience, most recently as Global Sales Director of fDi Intelligence, Financial Times, where he headed-up the commercial activities of its fDi portfolio including, fDi Magazine, fDi Events, fDi Markets and fDi Benchmark.
Chris has over a decade of FDI experience and is one of the most dynamic and experienced consultants in the area of FDI, having worked with over 100 IPAs in many different roles including research, consulting, training, FDI tools, advertising, and events for investment promotion.
As the Co-Founder and Chief Commercial Officer at WAVTEQ, he is responsible for driving sales, marketing and the commercial partnerships of WAVTEQ. Chris plays a key role in meeting the company’s rapid expansion goals as well as building on the firm’s reputation for service and delivery to its clients. As CCO, Chris is also responsible in overseeing WAVTEQ’s R&D activities to align its current and future product portfolio with client needs.
Since 2012, Chris has also been selected as a key trainer for WAIPA regional workshops to train IPAs around the world on best practices in investment promotion and he has led WAIPA workshops in Colombia for IPAs from the Latin America region and in Slovenia for European IPAs. In 2015, Chris was a key trainer in a 2-day workshop for 100 FDI professionals in Brazil and a workshop for 50 FDI professionals in the UK, and in 2014 he was key trainer for over 50 FDI professionals in Poland.
Chris is also one of the most prolific speakers on FDI and investment promotion. In the last few years, Chris is invited to speak at all the top FDI conferences in North America and Europe (including Select USA, IEDC and MIPIM every year) as well as emerging market conferences, including AIM.
Chris is also the Global Commercial Director of fDi Intelligence, Financial Times Ltd where he has responsibility for global services for IPAs. He has in-depth practical knowledge and experience of how IPAs can use events and advertising to attract investment and he also works with IPAs around the world in providing database tools to attract FDI.
Building on this experience, Chris published a Chapter titled “How EDOs can Engage in Successful Marketing for FDI” in a book called “Economic Development Marketing.”
In 2018, he led the acquisition and the integration of GIS Planning into the Financial Times and he is leading WAVTEQ’s new European Lead Generation JV in Germany.

As a UK-based investment promotion professional Daniel has experience advising more than 50 IPA’s and worked in +20 countries. Daniel has, since 2008, scouted established investments creating +1000 jobs across the Tech industry, Life Sciences, Renewable Energy and Professional Services. Relevant positions Daniel has occupied for global IPAs include ‘UK & Ireland Director’ for Enterprise Florida, ‘UK Account Manager’ for UK Trade & Investment/London & Partners and ‘Ireland Market Specialist’ for JETRO Japan.

Kavan is recognized as one of India’s leading experts on outward FDI and corporate location strategy with over 12 years of experience.
He has worked with 30 IPA/EDO’s and has advised over 60 Indian and international corporations. These include MEDEI Ontario, CINDE Costa Rica, Virginia Economic Development Partnership, Business Birmingham, Invest Guatemala, New York State, Enterprise Estonia, Wallonia, HSBC and IFC World Bank.

Chris Fraser has over 30 years of experience in the FDI industry. He has led teams attracting over $10 billion of FDI creating over 40,000 jobs for his clients.
Chris runs WAVTEQ’s Asia Pacific operations. He was formerly Director (Asia Pacific) at the Invest in Britain Bureau, based in Hong Kong, Senior Advisor (China) to UK Trade and Investment and Director of International Operations for the North East of England. He has a very strong track record in securing major Korean, Taiwan and Chinese investments, including the largest ever FDI project in the USA.
Chris has worked with The Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology to set up Chinese incubators overseas and has been a Senior Representative for Wuhan’s East Lake Hi Tech Park and the Shanghai Science and Technology Centre. He was an Adviser to the Chairman of ENN, China`s top private sector energy company and Adviser to Chinese industrial firms listed on London`s AIM market.
Chris received an OBE for his contribution to attracting FDI to the UK.

With a solid five plus years of experience in economic development and B2B representation, she has worked closely with many Canadian companies. Furthermore, Ms. Bourgeois developed a strong capacity of understanding her client’s needs to organize well targeted meetings and secure new business development opportunities.Fluently speaking English, Spanish and French, Joanie has been living in Santiago De Chile for more than three years. During that time, she has been attending various tradeshows, representing Canadian companies and US economic development organization as well as meeting with Chilean and Canadian entrepreneurs which has given her the opportunity to better understand the Chilean way of doing business.Joanie earned a multidisciplinary bachelor degree from Laval University in Quebec specializing in communication, cultural diversity and management. During her studies, she also reached an advanced level in Spanish.

Tingmei has worked for more than 15 years in the China outbound investment sector and has attracted over 60 foreign investment projects in a variety of sectors from across China.
She manages a team of 10 lead generation experts in our Shanghai, Beijing and Hong Kong offices, who have widespread corporate networks and strategic partnerships with key Chinese organizations.
Tingmei has worked extensively with Chinese Government agencies and from 2001-2015. She has worked on multiple economic development contracts, including IFC World Bank, Isle of Man, the Foreign Investment Committee of Chile, One NorthEast, Ontario MEDTE and Louisiana Economic Development. In 2014, Tingmei led the WAVTEQ China team in securing the largest ever Chinese FDI project into the US.
Tingmei holds degrees in International Finance and Business Studies and has a background in China in commercial banking, foreign and Chinese business consultancy.

Masao has over 25 years continuous experience in attracting FDI from Japan. From 1988-2011, Masao led a team attracting 279 Japanese FDI projects to clients, with realized capital investment of over $8 billion creating and safeguarding 25,000 jobs. more details…

Masao and his team of eight senior staff and associates have worked with economic development and private sector clients from across Europe, Latin America, and North America.
